Anthony Cowan Jr. was a point guard for Maryland Terrapins from 2016-2020, leading the team to win the 2020 Big Ten Championship. He now plays in the G-League for the Memphis Hustle.

Melo Trimble is a former All American and guard for Maryland from 2014-2017. Trimble played for a year in the G-League before moving to Spain to play for Fuenlabrada in Spanish Liga ACB.

Tim Kurkjian is a Maryland alumni that works for ESPN as a baseball analyst and reporter. Kurkjian is also an author, having written multiple books based around baseball.

Javon Leake is a Maryland alumni having played football for the Terps from 2017-2019. He signed with the New York Giants as an un-drafted free agent at the beginning of the 2020 season but is now part of the Washington Football Team.

Len Elmore played basketball for the Terps from 1971-1974, playing in some of the greatest game in NCAA Basketball history. He played in the NBA and ABA for ten years before getting a Law Degree from Harvard. Elmore has worked as a sportscaster at CBS, ESPN, and FOX Sports.

Wiggins is currently a junior on the UMD Men’s Basketball team. He was named 2020 BIG10 Sixth Man of the Year and is a key piece in Maryland’s starting lineup this season.

While playing at UMD from 2013-2016, Taylor won the Tewaaraton Trophy 3x, two National Championships, and is regarded as the greatest women's lacrosse player. She played in the UWLX for a few years before running her own lacrosse training program.

Diamond Stone was UMD’s highest ranked basketball commit of all time. He set the UMD Freshman scoring record with 39 points against PSU. In the 2016 NBA Draft he was selected 40th overall and now plays for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he won the 2019 G-League championship.

John Ourand is a longtime media reporter and graduate of UMD. Mr. Ourand served as editor-in-chief for CableFax Daily before joining the Sports Business Journal as a media reporter in 2006.

UMD Alumni, Kelsey Nicole Nelson is one the preeminent sports reporters in the DMV. She hosts her own radio show/podcast called “Listen in With KNN” on Fox Sports Radio, as well as multiple digital shows for the Washington Football Team.

After working as the Director of Business Operations & Executive Entertainment for the Washington Football Team, Chris Weiner is now the Senior Manager of Corporate Sales and Services for the Washington Nationals.

Became first sports marketing director in college sports for the University of Maryland in 1970. He then served as Athletic Director for SMU, Vice President of the Chicago White Sox, and a Virginia state senator. He is currently President of Russ Potts Productions.

Raul Fernandez is the Vice Chairman and Owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment. After graduating from UMD he founded Proxicom. Mr. Fernandez is also an active investor and on the board of directors for Broadcom and GameStop.

A graduate of UMD, Neil Hofman works for the Philadelphia Flyers as the Director of Business Development.

Currently the 11th Athletic Director in Oklahoma Sooners’ history. Received the 2004 Bobby Dodd Award and named National Athletic Director of the Year in May 2009 by the SportsBusiness Journal. He is one of the 13 members on the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Bruno is an all time UMD basketball fan favorite and current big man for the Atlanta Hawks. Fernando committed to UMD after his journey from Angola to IMG Academy. He was selected 34th overall in the 2019 draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and then traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

Jon is currently the NFL Senior Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs. Aside from his job with the NFL, Jon is an adjunct professor at NYU and is Chairman of the Board for the American Special Hockey Association.

As the former Director of Strength & Conditioning and Performance, Dana Cavalea was a part of the World Championship winning 2009 New York Yankees team. Mr. Cavalea was also the recipient of the 2009 Nolan Ryan Award for the top Strength & Performance Coach in the MLB.

UMD Alumni, Dillon Borgida currently serves as a New Business Executive working in VIP Acquisitions at DraftKings Inc.

Noah Johnson is a rising UMD Freshman. In high school he was the winner of the Madden 20 Challenge and the Madden 21 Patriots Club Champion.
